Dr. Wendy Smith specializes in business management coaching and strategic assessments for high growth technology ventures.

Wendy brings strong business acumen with technical understanding to define strategy, participate and guide execution, and deliver business results. She excels as leader, coach and mentor for high performing teams. Also, working with the investment community, Wendy is skilled in assessing business, technical, team and investment quality of business proposals.

Over the course of 12 years as a business and technical leader, she has had direct responsibility for product management, product marketing, systems engineering, research and development and  product verification. Her technical leadership spans a broad range of technologies including telecom, wireless, optical, data and content networks.

Wendy has a wealth of operational experience gained from roles in both large and small companies. Her experience includes CML Emergency Services, where she defined the evolution of the 9-1-1 product portfolio, Chrysalis-ITS where she led the development of SSL accelerator products and Nortel Networks where she held product management, R&D management and engineering roles working on Broadband Wireless Access, 3G Wireless Networks and Content Networking. She also served as a policy advisor to the Minister for Science with the Canadian Federal Government.

Wendy holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University, is a member of the Professional Engineers, Ontario and has completed the Canadian Securities Course with the Canadian Securities Institute.
